    This device is a “painting” that can never be hung skew on a wall The work is a playful but serious look at the at the increasing use of technology in arts practice as a purely formal device that is often left uninterrogated in the overall construction of meaning of artworks. The title ‘A cake is not a cookbook’ is a reference to this situation in which the superficial elements of a technologies incorporation into the art making process are substituted for the meaning of the work/process itself.
